Meet the Fabulous Leah and Amanda

A weaving of two complementary disciplines- Leah and Amanda bring years of experience with complex trauma, behaviour management, education support, and social work, including child protection and team leadership. They deliver programs that are fun, interesting, engaging, and inclusive. Our programs nurture identity and social and emotional development for kindy-age children. Moreover, we provide a platform that assists kindy kids in growing their educational, emotional, and social skills for life.

Tailored Programs to Suite Your Needs

Our sessions typically run for sixty minutes to two hours, but we are flexible and happy to negotiate the duration to meet your needs! Our programs are aligned with the EYLF and designed to be engaging and educational for kids and educators, focusing on social and emotional development while ensuring everyone has fun along the way!

Our teaching process is based on a strength-based approach that is child-centred and draws on each child’s individual strengths, resources, abilities and capacities to support their social and emotional growth and needs.

Programs

Chess Crusaders We teach the fundamentals of chess using play as our means. Through stories, puzzles and games, the kids will learn individual pieces, how they move and how to play. If they already have some chess knowledge, we can tailor this program to suit the needs of different groups in terms of strategic thinking, problem-solving, accepting loss and learning some more advanced techniques of the game. This is not your typical chess program; it is very interactive, and we have a lot of fun!

Board Buddies This is a selection of board games, such as Jenga, Snakes and Ladders, sequence, snap, etc. The kids will have to think on their feet, take turns, forward think, work together, and have a heap of fun doing it! We find that this program is a great way to start conversations, make new friends, and initiate play!

Kreative Kids This is a bit more of a free-play, sometimes messy, imaginative program. We can do a group project or individual projects with a running theme, like creating a collage or picture from things they find in nature, i.e., creating funny characters from twigs/rocks/flowers, etc. They will be learning about thoughts, feelings and emotions. Again, this is a really great, fun way for kids to engage in great conversations about each other’s masterpieces, learn about self-identity and build confidence!

Kindy Uplift

Early childhood is a critical period for developing social and emotional skills, laying the foundation for future success in academics and life. Research shows that play-based learning is highly effective in promoting social interaction, emotional regulation, empathy, and problem-solving abilities among young children. However, many Kindergartens face challenges integrating such programs into their curriculum due to limited resources.

Our program is tailored to meet the specific needs of Kindy children, focusing on social and emotional learning and includes:

Physicality

Our sessions focus on enhancing physical skills, including hand-eye coordination, fine and gross motor skills, and dexterity. Activities like threading beads, cutting, gluing, and sticking in Kreative Kids support precision and control. In Board Buddies and Chess Crusaders, children practice rolling dice, balancing during Twister, and maneuvering small game pieces. Chess further strengthens spatial awareness by teaching children to position and move pieces accurately on the board. These tasks promote both physical development and concentration in an engaging, hands-on environment.

Oral Language and Communication

We encourage children to develop oral language and communication skills through meaningful discussions before each session. These conversations spark creativity and critical thinking as children share ideas like, “What makes a Christmas tree crazy?” Our programs nurture life skills such as perseverance, resilience, and empathy. Through turn-taking, guided discussions and teamwork, children learn to handle winning and losing gracefully, support peers, and navigate emotions. These open discussions promote fairness, emotional growth, and collaborative problem-solving in a supportive environment.

Thinking and Responding

We prioritise building connections by learning each child’s name and understanding their preferences, fostering a safe and inclusive environment. Emotional development is central in our programs, helping children recognise and discuss feelings and empathy through storytelling, crafts, and group activities. Children actively create and review rules, promoting belonging, accountability, and fairness. Regular evaluations encourage critical thinking and collaboration, ensuring a supportive space where all children feel seen, heard, and valued.

We offer weekly sessions that can run for as long as you need, accommodating up to 6 children per teacher at a time.
