We’ve been working diligently for weeks (well, some of us have), what Amanda’s been doing is questionable. She’s easily distracted and off in her own colourful dream world, growing grand ideas about this and that and whatever else (including some type of wild adventure), while the other two are dutifully setting up the business. To all those who know Amanda, this is nothing new; she’s NOTORIOUS for packing up and racking off somewhere, especially when the more mundane work needs to be done!
With this insight, Will (Captain Tech) worked out pretty quickly that both Amanda and Leah are two very different creative souls in this crazy collaboration and often need their time and space to express themselves in ways that are constructive. But don’t spend a minute questioning if the Mighty Moments team works because they work together like peas and carrots, and one way or another, these pair always find their way back to task, sometimes a week or maybe two late… But most importantly, at Mighty Moments, we celebrate your creativity and uniqueness as much as our own.
We had got the news that our Captain Tech had finally snagged an appointment with the business bank teller in Caloundra, and man, weren’t we championing Will for being the MAN! We were pumped with the time as it unexpectedly suited the crew. To say we were psyched was an understatement, and here we were all thinking, “Look at us go, ticking boxes off our to-do list”. Achieving some of our own Mighty Moments.
The Mighty Moment momentum has been growing slowly, and today was our appointment with the bank to set up accounts. Between us, we didn’t or don’t have a dollar to rub together, but man, we are rich in all the right ways; resourcefulness, purpose, passion and what about our imaginative concepts?
We had planned to meet early and find our way to the bank for our 10;30 am appointment. And if you live on the Sunshine Coast, you would know we are currently experiencing some sort of freaky weather event called an El Nino (warmer than normal temps with limited rainfall). NOT. It’s been serious inclement weather recently.
Our drive down the highway was treacherous and really slow. It was raining cats and dogs, and the wind was ridiculous. We were lucky to be doing 50ks per hour and couldn’t even see the car in front of us.
Good old Bulcock St Caloundra was in its usual form – chaotic. Every Caloundrian woman, man, and dog was out and about in this crazy weather, and you guessed it, not a single car park was in sight. We went round and round and round until finally, a couple of streets away, we got ourselves some parks. We were close to the bank by no means. The weather was so cyclonic that we couldn’t even get out of the car. A number of attempts to put our umbrellas up ended up in some inside-out epic fails.
We gathered enough courage to get out of our cars, ran, and the three of us met under two ridiculously small umbrellas on the concrete path. We made our way to the bank, and when we arrived, to say we were drenched was an understatement. We walked in dripping and found a place for 1 new and much loved wet umbrella and one old manky falling to bits one. On our merry way, Leah opted to go shoeless to save her new shoes, and when we arrived, to say we were drenched was an understatement. Leah made the intuitive statement, “I’ll put my beloved umbrella in yours, Amanda, because someone will knick mine for sure.” Leah then passed her shoes to Amanda while she gracefully hand-sanitised her FEET in the middle of the bank. The look on Will’s face was priceless.
We met with Brooke the business teller, and I believe we entertained her like no other customers had in her bank history. We shared our photo IDs or pictures and giggled about how we looked like convicts, pirates and unprofessional waywardness.
When we were finished with Brooke, she wished us all the best and luck. However, I believe she was thinking, WOW, to herself, how did Will end up with that pair? Hasn’t he taken a risky business risk? NO RISK, NO REWARD, I say!
On walking out, we went for our umbrellas to find that they had been NICKED!
Someone nicked our umbrellas at the bank. What are you doing? There is evidence everywhere. Security cameras are positioned here, there and everywhere. Some might say they were brave; others would say CRAZY. But Bank Manager Matt saved the day! He took a look at the security footage to find out who the culprit was stealing the bank umbrella. LIFE LESSON HERE, PEOPLE – DON’T STEAL UMBRELLAS FROM BANKS, cause those cameras will get you every time, and if you bank with that bank, they have your details on file!
Sadly Matt was unable to contact that customer to retrieve our brollies. However, we were lucky enough to get two brand NEW BIG BUNNINGS UMBRELLAS out of the MIGHTY situation.
LET’S GO MAKE SOME MIGHTY MOMENTS!
