Red Spot, Blue Spot and a Green Spot, too

Assembly speech done ✅-even better, I didn’t even pee myself, my skirt didn’t unravel or come undone and fall on the floor, leaving me standing there in my undies, but most importantly, I didn’t accidentally swear while up there, cause my mind was racing, and in there, the word thief took over and stole all my words and than all these swear words fell out of my mouth. (Phew! Thankfully, this was just in my head!) This is always a massive win for me, as these are my crazy idiosyncrasies (a habit or quality of both body and mind peculiar to an individual) that I experience every time I do an assembly speech. Yes, these are the fun and fantastic characteristics that my mind battles with every time it does an assembly speech; however, I have taught myself along the way that if a year sixer can lead an assembly, so can I.

At Mighty Moments, we are well aware we all have our STRENGTHS and awesome characteristics (aka SUPERPOWERS), and we like to celebrate, acknowledge and champion them. These are the crazy gifts we all have been given … Some may believe they are wild, left of field and/or seriously interesting, while others are downright hilarious, with quirks, perks and peculiarities…mine included… we can’t run and hide from them, we all have them and need to learn to accept them… Our belief at Mighty Moments is to lean into and go with them, even better, own them, laugh about them and share them… because these qualities and traits make each of us unique, amazing and incredible human beings, different from the person we sit next to.

The excitement of our first Palmview class was through the roof: Paperwork was signed and sorted, the assembly speech was done, it was Wednesday lunchtime, and Board Buddies were coming in. HOT Palmview kids, Amanda’s on the run. I’m running around like my head has been chopped off, thinking about what needs to be done; I’m ringing Leah at the 11th hour cause we want the children to have lots and lots of fun. We brought Jenga, Uno, Wobbly Worms, and Guess Who, all great games that can be played by two. Monopoly was given the boot, and Where’s Wally got pushed to the side. With 5 Second Rule, There’s a Wocket in my Pocket, and Deal or no Deal, we were in for a wild ride!

The Mighty Moments crew has the innate ability to use these above games to bend, stretch, and challenge you, too. Listen up, Board Buddies; our hour per week will be sure to engage, inspire, and encourage you, too. Watch out, Board Buddies; this might surprise the heck out of you.

The mixture of play and our talented skills will grow your child’s confidence, resilience, acceptance, and even will. We needn’t have worried; the kids showed up in force, and our Palmview Board Buddies class was a success, of course!
